The Marlene D. Daniels award was instituted by the Hellenic and Norwegian American Chambers of Commerce for the 30th anniversary of the annual conference, the HACC NACC Shipping Conference, to honor leading personalities in the shipping industry.
The Award reflects the long time service to education and professionalism exemplified by Marlene Daniels, who was a powerful guiding force in the mentorship of young professionals, and, in her lifetime, one of the first women to play a major part in leading a maritime law firm. something that was unique when she served as the catalyst for the first
